Overview
Hip osteoarthritis is degenerative change of the hip joint, producing groin pain, stiffness and reduced movement. Exercise and load management are first-line, with joint replacement reserved for advanced cases.
Symptoms
- Groin pain, sometimes referring to the thigh
- Stiffness, especially in the morning
- Reduced hip rotation
- Difficulty with stairs and putting on shoes
