Overview
Metatarsalgia is a general term for pain in the ball of the foot, often from overload of the long foot bones. It responds to footwear changes, offloading and addressing contributing mechanics.
Symptoms
- Aching or burning in the ball of the foot
- Pain worse with standing and walking
- A feeling of walking on a pebble
- Callus formation under the forefoot
