These Terms and Conditions explain the conditions for accessing and using Clinical Training Lab (CTL), available at clinicaltraininglab.com, including its educational resources, simulated patient conversations, subscriptions, courses and community services. Please read them before creating an account, participating or making a purchase.
Legal review notice: these terms are a draft pending confirmation of the operating legal entity, registered address and applicable jurisdiction, and review by qualified legal counsel. They do not override mandatory consumer rights.
In these terms, ‘CTL’, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to the provider of Clinical Training Lab; ‘you’ refers to the person using the service or, where a person is duly authorised to contract for an organisation, that organisation. The service includes the website and the learning, assessment, communication and account features made available through it. These terms apply to visitors, learners, instructors, community participants and institutional users as relevant to their use.
By creating an account, purchasing access or using the service after being given reasonable notice of these terms, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not purchase or continue using the service. Merely publishing these terms does not replace any express consent required by law. Product-specific purchase information and any separately agreed institutional contract also apply. A signed institutional contract takes priority for matters it expressly governs; mandatory statutory rights always take priority. These terms do not themselves grant marketing consent or replace a separate privacy notice.
CTL is a training and educational platform for physiotherapy and clinical reasoning. Patient simulations, assessment guides, condition summaries, exercises, articles and suggested management plans are learning materials, not personalised medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, telehealth or an emergency service. Use of CTL does not create a clinician–patient relationship with CTL, its founders, instructors or contributors. Simulated cases do not constitute real patient consultations.
The platform complements, but does not replace, accredited education, supervised clinical experience, professional judgment, local clinical guidelines or the duty to assess an actual patient independently. Never use a simulated diagnosis or exercise recommendation as the sole basis for patient care. Check current evidence, contraindications, consent requirements and local referral pathways before applying any technique. If you or another person may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services rather than using CTL.
You must have legal capacity to agree to these terms under the laws that apply to you. If you are below the applicable age of legal capacity, use is permitted only where lawful and with the consent and supervision of a parent, guardian or authorised educational institution as required. CTL is not intended for unsupervised use by children. If you act for a university, clinic or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so; otherwise you may not bind that organisation.
Learners are responsible for working within their level of training. Instructors and professionals remain responsible for their credentials, supervision obligations, scope of practice and ethical duties. Access to an instructor account, a course or a professional profile is not confirmation that you are licensed to practise or entitled to teach regulated activities in any jurisdiction.
Provide accurate account information and keep relevant details, particularly your contact email, up to date. Use your own identity and do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications or institutional affiliation. An individual account is for one individual; do not share passwords, resell account access or permit others to submit work under your name. Institutional seats may be used only according to the applicable institutional arrangement.
Protect your sign-in credentials and promptly tell support if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity you authorise or cause through your account, but these terms do not make you automatically liable for security failures attributable to CTL. CTL may require account verification, invalidate compromised sessions or temporarily restrict access to protect users and the service. We will never ask you to send a password or full payment-card details by email.
The standard introductory offer is one complete free practice case per user account, including the available feedback, before paid access is required for further restricted practice. Signing out, signing back in, changing devices or opening duplicate accounts does not reset that allowance. Do not create multiple accounts or manipulate account records to evade access limits. This free case is not a seven-day subscription trial and does not, by itself, authorise a payment.
Access depends on the product purchased, an active subscription, an institutional assignment or another valid entitlement. Certain community activities or a designated free community case may have separate access rules; free community membership does not unlock every learning path, case or course. Specific promotions must state their eligibility, price and duration. Existing paid commitments and mandatory rights are not reduced by a later change to a free offer.
CTL uses artificial intelligence to support simulated patient conversations and educational feedback. AI can produce incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, biased or inappropriate responses even where a case has defined educational objectives or scoring criteria. Evidence and best practice can change, and a simulation may not represent every plausible real-world presentation. Verify material that affects clinical, academic or professional decisions and report suspected errors to support.
The ‘Dr. Joe’ senior-clinician reveal and similar mentor features form part of the simulation. They are not a live second opinion, a real-time clinician review or an independent clinical diagnosis. A revealed working diagnosis is the intended educational direction for that case, not a guarantee of certainty. Scores, explanations and recommendations are formative learning aids and may be affected by what you asked, what you submitted, technical limitations and the selected difficulty. Do not represent an AI-generated result as an independently validated clinical assessment.
Feedback is designed to assess demonstrated performance in a simulation; it is not a measure of your overall professional competence, fitness to practise or ability to treat an actual patient. Difficulty settings and changes to cases or rubrics can affect comparability between attempts. CTL does not guarantee a particular score, examination result, employment outcome or learning improvement. If you believe a score is incorrect, provide the case identifier and relevant non-patient details to support; a review or correction may be appropriate, but a higher score is not promised.
Submit your own work and follow any institutional rules on permitted assistance, collaboration and AI use. Do not fabricate clinical activity, manipulate completion records, exploit scoring systems or submit another person's work as yours. Educators who use CTL for consequential assessment must independently determine suitability, validation, accessibility, oversight and an appropriate student appeal process. CTL results should not be used alone for high-stakes licensing, progression or disciplinary decisions.
Before paying, review the selected product, included features, currency, amount, billing interval, renewal status and any disclosed taxes or charges. The information you are shown at checkout for the selected offer governs that purchase. Products may include recurring subscriptions, individually purchased learning paths, instructor courses or paid community groups; their access periods and entitlements can differ. A price shown for one product does not apply to another.
Payments are handled through the payment provider identified at checkout, currently Stripe for supported purchases. You authorise collection of the disclosed charge using a payment method you are entitled to use and, for a recurring product, subsequent disclosed renewal charges until cancellation. Standard paid plans are charged from the start, without a seven-day trial. Your bank may impose foreign-exchange or other fees outside CTL's control. If a price or order appears incorrect, contact support before purchase; an obvious error will be addressed consistently with applicable law rather than silently substituted with a higher charge.
A product described at checkout as a subscription renews automatically at the disclosed interval unless cancelled before its next renewal. Monthly and annual options may be offered; selecting an annual option is not the same as selecting a monthly commitment. Your billing account and purchase confirmation identify the applicable period. You are responsible for reviewing renewal information and keeping payment and contact details current.
If a recurring price or a material subscription term changes, CTL will provide advance notice and obtain any additional agreement required by law, allowing cancellation before the change takes effect. Such changes do not retrospectively alter a period already paid for. We do not guarantee that a promotional price will continue after its expressly stated duration. An individual purchase described as non-recurring is not converted into a subscription without your agreement.
You can manage or cancel a supported subscription through the billing or customer payment portal available from your account. If you cannot access it, contact support with the account email and enough information to identify the purchase, without sending card details. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the end of the paid billing period unless you request an earlier closure, a refund changes the entitlement or a lawful suspension applies.
Signing out, not using the service, leaving a community group or uninstalling a browser does not cancel a subscription. Requesting account deletion should include an explicit instruction about any active subscription so that billing and data requests can be coordinated. Individually purchased paths advertised with lifetime access do not require subscription renewal: ‘lifetime’ refers to the supported life of that purchased digital offering, not a promise that every CTL feature will operate forever. It does not permit arbitrary removal of paid rights contrary to the original offer or applicable law.
Cancellation and a refund are different. Cancelling future renewal does not automatically refund a period already paid for. Any product-specific refund policy communicated before purchase applies subject to mandatory consumer law. These terms do not introduce an unconditional ‘no refunds’ rule or promise a money-back period that was not offered. Contact support promptly about duplicate charges, unauthorised payments, missing paid access or a materially defective service so the issue can be investigated and an appropriate remedy considered.
Depending on where you live, you may have non-waivable rights concerning withdrawal, digital content, conformity, refunds or remedies for non-performance. Where immediate digital supply affects a withdrawal right, any legally required express request, consent and acknowledgement must be collected separately; agreeing to these general terms alone is not a waiver. Nothing here excludes those rights. A refund, where lawfully granted, may end the associated paid entitlement. You may contact your payment provider about a genuine dispute; CTL may supply relevant transaction evidence and does not penalise the lawful exercise of consumer rights.
If a recurring payment fails, the payment provider may retry it and CTL may send service-related billing notices or ask you to update your payment method. Paid access may become restricted or end if payment remains unresolved, subject to any applicable notice requirements and the relevant product terms. A failed payment does not convert paid access into permanent free access or erase a valid outstanding charge.
If you dispute a charge, describe the issue and the relevant date to support. Do not send full card numbers or security codes. CTL will investigate identifiable billing errors and work with its payment provider where appropriate. Any unpaid amount claimed, collection action or restriction remains subject to applicable law, genuine disputes and your statutory rights.
Course access, prerequisites, completion criteria, certificate eligibility and any stated continuing professional development recognition are specific to the relevant offering. A completion certificate records the achievement described on it; it is not a degree, professional licence, specialist registration or permission to practise. Recognition by an employer, university, regulator or professional body is not guaranteed unless explicitly stated for that body and offering. Check your own reporting and accreditation requirements before relying on a certificate for CPD credit.
NPTE, DHA and other examination-preparation resources are independent educational materials unless an express, verified affiliation is stated. Mentioning an examination or organisation does not imply endorsement, access to official questions or a guaranteed pass. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. Certificates or achievements obtained through cheating, identity misrepresentation or manipulated records may be corrected or withdrawn following an appropriate review.
Instructors must use their permitted tools only for legitimate educational purposes and for students, cohorts or groups they are authorised to manage. They are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own teaching material, assignments and communications, including obtaining permissions for copyrighted content and protecting confidential information. Institutional access does not grant unrestricted access to all users' records.
An authorised instructor may see participation, submissions and performance information linked to the relevant assigned learning, cohort or course, as enabled by the service and institutional arrangement. Institutions are responsible for informing students about their educational use of CTL, identifying an appropriate basis for any personal-data processing and complying with their own safeguarding and assessment policies. A separately agreed institutional contract may set out additional service, support or data-processing obligations.
Community participation, evidence briefs, discussion threads, group lessons and live challenges are educational activities. Respect others, discuss ideas without personal attacks and do not present community comments as patient-specific clinical advice. Group rules may supplement these terms but cannot authorise unlawful conduct. Paid groups may have separate eligibility, billing and content terms disclosed before purchase. Joining a free group does not entitle you to paid group material.
Do not post harassment, hate speech, threats, discriminatory abuse, sexually exploitative content, spam, scams, undisclosed commercial solicitation or unlawful material. Do not expose another person's private information, target participants or distribute harmful clinical misinformation as established fact. Use available reporting tools or contact support about concerns. Live activity depends on host participation and connectivity; timing, rankings and session availability are not guarantees of uninterrupted service or formal certification.
You retain any intellectual-property rights you hold in your original submissions, discussions, lessons and other uploaded material. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide that content and that it does not breach confidentiality, privacy, copyright or another person's rights. Do not upload real identifiable patient records or copyrighted course resources you are not allowed to share.
To operate the features you choose, you grant CTL a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, format and display your content to the intended audience, and to process it for the requested simulation, feedback, moderation and support functions. This permission is limited to operating and protecting the service; it does not give CTL ownership or an unrestricted right to sell your content or use it in unrelated advertising. Publicly shared content may be viewed or copied by others. Removal requests are subject to applicable retention duties, legitimate moderation records and rights of others; copies already made outside CTL may not be recoverable. These terms alone do not authorise unrelated model training on your private submissions.
Account details, learning activity, submissions and other personal data may be processed as needed to provide the service, handle payments, secure accounts and support users. Detailed processing purposes, recipients, retention periods, international transfers and privacy rights must be addressed in the applicable privacy notice and any institutional data agreement, not inferred solely from these terms. Marketing messages require an appropriate legal basis and any necessary consent; purchasing or accepting these terms is not blanket permission for promotional email.
Use fictional or appropriately anonymised examples. Never enter patient names, contact details, identification numbers, identifiable photos, health records or other confidential patient information into chats, group posts or uploads. Even indirect combinations of details can identify someone. You are responsible for ensuring you can lawfully disclose any data you submit. No internet service can promise absolute security. Report suspected exposure promptly, and contact support to ask about access, correction, deletion or other privacy rights available under applicable law.
CTL achievement records, Passport identifiers, QR codes and optional professional listings may make selected information publicly accessible according to the feature and settings involved. Public content can be shared, copied and indexed by search engines; withdrawal from a directory does not necessarily remove previously cached copies. Review what is public before publishing. Private learning performance is not made public merely because you choose a professional listing.
A CTL-verified learning achievement indicates the platform record described, not endorsement of a practitioner's safety, professional registration, clinical competence or suitability for a particular patient. Credential review, where offered, is limited to the stated checks and is not a substitute for verification with the relevant regulator. Profile owners must keep qualifications and contact information accurate. Directory visitors are responsible for checking licensing and suitability independently; CTL is not a party to treatment or payment arrangements made with listed professionals.
Except for user-owned and separately licensed third-party material, the platform software, branding, case designs, teaching resources, rubrics, graphics and other CTL materials are owned by CTL or its licensors. Subject to your entitlement and these terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access them for your personal learning or expressly authorised institutional teaching. Buying access does not transfer copyright or ownership.
Do not commercially redistribute case banks, scrape restricted resources, remove attribution, publish answer keys, copy the platform for resale or use its materials to train a competing product without permission. Downloads or certificates may be used within their expressly permitted purpose. Lawful exceptions, including those that cannot be restricted by contract, remain available. To request a licence or report an infringement, contact support with the material location, your rights and relevant supporting details.
Do not bypass payment gates, rate limits, permissions or security controls; access another user's records; probe the service destructively; introduce malware; automate abusive requests; or interfere with availability. Do not reverse engineer restricted systems except where applicable law expressly permits it, or use unauthorised bots to harvest personal data, bulk-copy protected content or generate fraudulent activity.
If you discover a vulnerability, stop any activity that could expose data or damage the service and report it privately to support. Do not publish private user information or exploit the issue. CTL may apply proportionate request limits and protective measures to maintain safety, fairness and service availability. These rules do not prohibit lawful accessibility tools or good-faith reporting performed without unauthorised access or harm.
The service may link to research publications, videos, payment tools, sign-in providers or other external services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to your use of them. A link does not by itself mean that CTL endorses every statement, controls availability or guarantees accuracy. External articles may be subject to publisher copyright and separate access fees; a member-only evidence summary does not grant rights to reproduce the original publication.
Workshops or events promoted through CTL may be run by separate organisers and governed by their disclosed booking, attendance, cancellation and refund conditions. A CTL subscription does not include attendance unless expressly stated. Contact the identified organiser about venue, scheduling or booking matters. CTL remains responsible for its own representations and obligations to the extent required by law; this section does not remove responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
We aim to provide a reliable service, but maintenance, connectivity, hosting interruptions, payment-provider outages and AI service limitations can affect access or save operations. The platform is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device. Keep appropriate copies of any content you are entitled to download and check that important submissions have saved. We do not promise a specific uptime or support response time unless separately agreed.
Cases, interfaces and educational content may be corrected or updated. Material removal or discontinuation affecting an existing paid commitment will be handled with reasonable notice where practicable and with any remedies required by law or the purchase agreement. A general ability to update the service is not permission to materially deprive you of a paid product without an appropriate remedy. Events beyond reasonable control may delay performance, but do not remove non-waivable rights to refunds or other remedies.
CTL may remove content or restrict an account for a material breach, credible safety or security risk, fraud, unlawful activity or unresolved payment issue. Action should be proportionate to the concern. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and offer an opportunity to resolve or contest it; urgent protection, legal restrictions or the rights of others may require immediate action or limit what can be disclosed. Contact support to request review of a moderation or access decision.
You may stop using the service and request account closure. Active billing, privacy requests and retention obligations must be addressed separately as relevant. Closing an account does not automatically erase material held under a lawful retention obligation or information that you previously made public outside the platform. On termination, permission to access restricted materials ends except for rights expressly preserved by your purchase or law. Outstanding lawful obligations and provisions needed to resolve disputes survive closure.
To the extent permitted by law, CTL does not provide guarantees beyond the express product commitments and legal obligations that apply to the service. In particular, educational material and AI outputs are not warranted to produce a particular diagnosis, examination pass, income, professional status or patient outcome. You remain responsible for independent clinical and educational decisions. Nothing here limits guarantees of digital-service conformity or other protections that apply mandatorily to consumers.
To the extent lawful, CTL is not responsible for losses caused solely by your unlawful misuse, independent third-party conduct outside its control or decisions made in disregard of the educational-only limitations. Responsibility for foreseeable loss, service defects and other claims is determined under applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. No arbitrary monetary liability cap or blanket consumer indemnity is imposed by this draft.
Please first contact support with a clear explanation of your concern and the resolution you seek so we can attempt to resolve it informally. This does not require you to delay exercising a statutory right or prevent you from contacting a regulator, consumer authority, payment provider or competent court. CTL does not require mandatory arbitration, waive class or collective rights, or require an overseas forum through these draft terms.
The operating legal entity, registered address and any express governing-law or court designation remain to be confirmed before these terms are finalised. Until then, questions of applicable law and competent courts are determined by the rules that legally apply, including mandatory protections in your place of residence. A future jurisdiction clause cannot override consumer rights or retroactively govern an existing dispute without a lawful basis.
We may revise these terms to reflect legal requirements or changes to the service. The version date identifies the published text. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice where appropriate, and express consent obtained where required. Changes do not apply retrospectively to accrued claims or override an existing paid commitment without a lawful basis. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the service and cancel renewal, without prejudice to any remedy available under law.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision immediately is not a waiver. These terms do not transfer your contract or permit assignment in a manner that unlawfully reduces your rights. English and French versions are provided for accessibility; differences should be clarified with support, and any interpretation remains subject to applicable law rather than automatically removing rights afforded by the language in which you purchased. Contact support@clinicaltraininglab.com with your account email and a description of your request. Never include patient information, passwords or payment-card details.
